The following procedure was updated at the May 21, 2018 Training Committee meeting.
Motivation
- The “calendar is king” – one source of truth for what is happening and when.
- We need to communicate calendar updates between training committee, professional staff, training staff, volunteer leaders (our customers!) and other interested parties.
- We need a calendar we can stand behind and others can trust. We’ll have to earn that trust.
- Training related dates must originate from the training committee and not be imposed on it.
- Changes to already-established dates need to be minimized as much as possible. If changes are required, they must be handled carefully.
Procedure
- When a new date or changed training-related date is proposed, communicate it to Bob S.
- Bob S. will review with the program subcommittee and Wes M. to confirm that the new/changed date is “real” (something we can own).
- Assuming the date is valid, Bob S. will communicate the date to Wes M., Larry B., and Joe C.
- Wes will communicate the add/change through the professional staff.
- Larry will communicate the add/change through the training committee and the general council through the training committee’s Facebook pages, email lists, etc.
- Joe will update the council website to reflect the change.
- Bob will be responsible for the overall procedure.
